A TREE GROWS IN MY DREAMS EVERY NIGHT

A poetic documentary mosaic of a remote Slovenian region and its people. By intertwining the individual destinies of its inhabitants, the film explores the coexistence of past and present in the collective memory of a community. We follow a photographer chronicling the changing of the times, old folk singers and young musicians, all living in the hilly wine-growing region of Haloze. By sharing their daily life, stories and memories, they paint a portrait of a people, deeply rooted into the landscape they inhabit. Incorporating photography, local poetry, song and music, the film is a subjective meditation on the significance of memory and the creative potential of solitude.
