Just Love

In the last few years, the phenomenon of hate speech has spread greatly in Slovenia, especially on the Internet. In addition to the incitement of hatred by politicians who targeted individuals, activist groups, non-governmental organizations, and foreigners during the epidemic, ordinary citizens also resorted to increasing aggression.

The 8th of March Institute (Inštitut 8. marec) therefore decided that in the coming month, they will focus on dealing with hatred and violence and set guidelines for positive communication against them.

With us, various individuals (artists, activists, journalists...) will share their stories of hatred and violence, who have been the victims of threats and vilification due to their media exposure, appearance, or performance.

At the event, you will also have the opportunity to sign a statement of accession to the newly established online action group Just Love, which will fight against hateful, violent speech online. Through coordinated actions, we will flood negative comments, which are on the rise on various social networks, with positive messages. Victims of online threats, intimidation and insults usually feel alone in such cases. With our support, we will show them that this is not the case at all. That they are not alone.
