EuroCubans

EuroCubans, a musical ensemble consisting of fourteen top Cuban and European musicians, was created on the initiative of Slovenian percussionist Črt Pšeničnik and Juan de Marcos González, Grammy winner and central figure of the Cuban music scene. The Cuban bandleader, arranger, musician and actor is famous for his work with Buena Vista Social Club and Afro Cuban All Stars, and is also known from the animated film “Vivo” (Sony Pictures, 2021) as the voice of Andrés, the owner of Vivo.
González's collaborations with various prominent musicians have made a visible contribution to the popularisation of Cuban music worldwide, and with the fresh Eurocubans, he is spreading the cosmopolitan spirit of Havana on European stages.
In addition to Pšeničnik and González, the group is made up of other notable names in jazz and Latin popular music: trumpeter Juan Munguía (Irakere, Dizzy Gillespie & United Nations Band, Paquito D'Riviera, Celia Cruz), bassist Dany Noel (Roy Hargrove, Chucho Valdés, José Alberto “El Canario”, Alfredo De La Fe, The New York Salsa All Star, Celia Cruz, Paquito D’Rivera), percussionist Pepe Espinoza (Conjunto Saratoga, B. B. King, Afro Cuban All Stars, Arturo Sandoval, Jari Sillanpaa) and pianist David Alfaro (Afro Cuban All Stars, La Banda JB de Juaquin Betancourt).
EuroCubans offer a wonderful cross-cultural experience and a unique insight into the historic and contemporary Cuban music, while captivating audiences with energetic performances and infectious dance rhythms that leave no one indifferent.
