The central themes of Nina Medved's second poetry collection are the beauty and subversiveness of the maternal age. The author poetically explores the tensions between her own desires and the expectations of others. She keenly highlights the physicality of women, exposed to social, medical, advertising, and other forms of micro-violence. Rodna doba is a poetry collection in which the concept of a "room of one's own" is condensed to the body and stretched into a web of myths about adult women, mothers, partners, and artists. The poems are accompanied by the author's analog photographs.
